PROFILE
Alane Neo is a graduate of the University of Malaya and was called to the Malaysian Bar in July 2013. She completed her pupillage and commenced her legal practice in one of the leading firms in Klang Valley. She has been involved in numerous civil, corporate and banking litigation gaining extensive experience in and exposure to general and construction dispute resolution involving arbitration, adjudication, strata management and housing development disputes, industry relations, insolvency and banking, and land law.

EXPERIENCE
- Acted and provided insolvency, hire-purchase, debt recovery and banking advisory works to one of the top financial institutions.
- Acted as junior counsel in a dispute between shareholders of a public listed company worth RM21 million.
- Acted as junior counsel in a matter concerning a law firm’s duties as a stakeholder in the Court of Appeal.
- Acted for a managing agent of a building under the Building and Common Property (Maintenance and Management) Act 2007 and the Strata Management Act 2013.
- Acted for a management corporation in a matter concerning specific performance of a purported disposition of common property under the Strata Management Act 2013.
- Acted as counsel in a matter in relation to a dispute between freight forwarder and shipper/consignor (conditions under Federation of Malaysian Freight Forwarders).
- Acted as junior counsel in a matter in respect of a sale & purchase of Land worth about RM2 million.
- Acted as counsel in a matter involving a landlord and tenant dispute with an amount more than RM3 million.
- Acted as junior counsel in an application for judicial review in the High Court and the Court of Appeal.
- Assisted in a shares dispute in relation to the KLSE’s rules with an amount more than RM27 million.
- Acted as junior counsel in various construction arbitrations for the main contractor against the Government of Malaysia.
- Acted as counsel for the employer in a construction dispute relating to negligence, breach of undertaking, breach of contract and payment defaults to the main contractor.
- Acted as counsel in a hearing for assessment of damages and other contentious interlocutory matters.
- Acted for the main contractors and subcontractors in various construction disputes.
- Advisory work involving shareholder disputes.
- Acted as counsel in Magistrates Court, Session Court and High Court matters.
